Jaffery Golf Society ("JGS", "we", "us", or "our") operates the JGS mobile application and the website at jgs.golf (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

When you register for an account or use our Service, we may collect:

• Account information: name, email address, and authentication credentials (managed by our identity provider, Auth0).
• Golf information: handicap index, scores, tournament results, and membership details.
• Payment information: when you pay for tournaments or membership, payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
• Device information: device type, operating system, and app version (used for compatibility and support).
• Biometric data: if you enable biometric login (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint), the biometric verification is handled entirely on your device by the operating system. We never receive, store, or transmit your biometric data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Service, including tournament management, live scoring, and leaderboards.
• Process tournament registrations and membership payments.
• Display your name, handicap, and scores to other members as part of the golf society experience (e.g., leaderboards, member directory).
• Communicate with you about tournaments, events, and account matters.
• Improve and develop the Service.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With other members: your name, handicap, and tournament scores are visible to other JGS members through the app and website.
• Service providers: we use trusted third-party services including Auth0 (authentication), Stripe (payments), and Cloudflare (hosting and infrastructure). These providers process your data only as necessary to provide their services to us.
• England Golf: we may look up or sync handicap data with England Golf's systems if you are a registered member.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of JGS and its members.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Cloudflare's infrastructure. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and implement appropriate technical measures to protect your personal information. Authentication tokens on mobile devices are stored in secure native storage (iOS Keychain / Android SharedPreferences) and are protected by your device's biometric lock when enabled.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and golf records for as long as you are a member of JGS. Tournament scores and results are retained as part of the society's historical records. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information, though anonymised historical scores may be retained.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Junior members (under 18) must have parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
